Safety, materials & care
Good pieces last for years if you look after them. Here's exactly what everything is made of, and how to keep it clean, safe and beautiful.
What body-safe actually means
A body-safe material is non-porous — it has no microscopic holes for bacteria to settle into, so it can be properly cleaned. Every wellness piece we stock is medical-grade silicone, ABS plastic, borosilicate glass or stainless steel.
We do not stock jelly rubber, PVC, TPR or anything containing phthalates. If a product smells strongly of plastic, is sticky to the touch, or is described only as "rubber", it's porous and it does not belong against your body.
Lubricant compatibility
Water-based lubricant is safe with everything. It's the only one we'd recommend as a default.
- Silicone lube on silicone toys can degrade the surface — avoid it.
- Oil-based lubricants weaken latex condoms and stain lace.
- Glass, steel and ABS are compatible with all lubricant types.
Cleaning your wellness pieces
Wash before first use and after every use, without exception. Warm water and unscented mild soap, or a dedicated toy cleaner. Rinse thoroughly, then air-dry completely on a clean towel before storing.
- Never submerge a rechargeable item unless it's marked fully waterproof.
- Keep water away from charging ports and magnetic contacts.
- Do not boil, dishwash or use alcohol, bleach or antibacterial soap on silicone — it breaks the surface down.
- Anything shared between partners, or moving between different parts of the body, should be cleaned in between or covered with a condom.
Storage
Store pieces separately in a breathable cotton pouch, out of direct sunlight. Different silicones can react with each other if left touching for long periods, leaving marks or soft spots. Remove batteries from anything you won't use for a while, and charge rechargeable items every few months to protect the battery.
Lace, silk & apparel care
Hand-wash in cool water with a delicates detergent. Press the water out gently — never wring or twist — then dry flat, away from heat and sunlight. No tumble dryer, no bleach, no fabric softener.
If you must use a machine, use a mesh laundry bag on the coldest, gentlest cycle, and fasten every hook first so they can't snag the lace. Store bras cup-inside-cup rather than folded, and hang silk robes rather than stacking them.
Restraint & kink safety
Agree on a safe word before you begin and keep safety scissors within reach of any binding. Restraints should sit snug, never tight — you should be able to slip two fingers underneath comfortably.
- Never leave a restrained person alone, even briefly.
- Check circulation regularly; numbness, tingling or colour change means stop now.
- Avoid pressure on the neck, throat and joints entirely.
- Keep any single position to 20 minutes or less, and check in out loud.
Wipe leather and vegan leather with a damp cloth only. Never soak it.
Honey packs & consumables
Our royal honey sachets are a botanical food supplement for adults 18 and over. They are not a medicine and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
One sachet at a time, with water, and never more than one in 24 hours. Do not take them if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, taking nitrates or blood pressure medication, or if you have a heart condition — and speak to your doctor first if you're unsure or on any prescription medication. Contains bee products and may contain traces of nuts. Store below 25°C.
Allergies & sensitivities
Latex, nickel and fragrance are the usual culprits. Every product page lists its materials — if you have a known sensitivity and the listing isn't clear enough, email us before you order and we'll check the piece in person.
